Learn to Highlight duplicate entries in a table in MS Excel

There are many instances where you need to highlight duplicate entries in an Excel sheet .If you have a few entries you can check manually and highlight them one by one , but if you have thousands of entries in a column (or Row) then manual checking is not a practical way of doing it .

This tip will show you an easy way to highlight duplicates in an Excel sheet .

We have a table with fruits and their quantities

We have delibrately created some duplicate entries as highlighted below

Now in order to highlight duplicates , select the column in which you wish to remve (column A)

Click on "Conditional Formatting" select "Highlight Cell Rules" and click on "Duplicate Values"

You will get a pop up where you can select the colour for highlighting the cells .

You will notice that the duplicate entries have been highlighted as below .
